Rapeseed
Cortes
- Medium maturing variety
- Early and long flowering
- Short to medium tall, widely branching plants
- Very high lodging resistance
- Resistant or medium resistant to significant fungal diseases
- Suitable for growing in all areas
It is an effective and short variety with very early flowering, which enriches the collection of rapeseed with shorter growing time. During the registration tests it showed not only high grain and oil yields but also a higher level of other agricultural characteristics. In terms of qualitative indicators – content of oil is medium – 46.7%, glucosinolates content is 12.85 mmol / g in seed and N-content is 21.2% in seed dry matter.
CORTES belongs to widely branching plants with a high lodging resistance, and a three-year rating of 8.4 points means that this variety is resistant to lodging (on the 1-9 scale).
Its health is also assessed very positively and the level of resistance to Phoma Stem Canker and Sclerotinia is higher than the health status of the tested varieties such as Labrador*, Ladoga*and Chagall*.
It is worth emphasizing its resistance to Phoma Stem Canker due to its shorter growing time, because earlier varieties, in general, are always attacked by fungal pathogens.
For this reason, we can consider a three-year evaluation of resistance to Phoma with a score of 6.0 points as a great advantage of this variety. Cortes shows high to medium resistance to other fungal diseases such as Grey Mould and Downy Mildew. Positive is also the higher weight of a thousand grains(TGW). It ranges from 5.8 g to 6.3 g depending on the year. Higher TGW, faster autumn growth and a well-developed rosette guarantee a well-rooted and well-prepared stand of oilseed rape for winter.
